Trucking Industry Joins Together to #ThankATrucker During 2018 National Truck Driver Appreciation Week
In recognition of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 9–15, 2018, the trucking industry is celebrating drivers throughout the industry.
TMAF’s co-chair says it best in his published editorial on FoxNews.com when thanking the “face of the industry,” our nation’s dedicated truck drivers. The op-ed can be read here.
There are hundreds of celebratory events and promotions for the drivers. Overdrive Magazine published a piece about efforts to thank drivers throughout the industry, from truck stops to trucking organizations. You can read about the industry’s initiatives, as well as deals and offers for drivers, here.
TMAF is thanking our nation’s 3.5 million dedicated truck drivers through many communications channels this year. TMAF launched an advertising and digital campaign to thank the professional truck drivers on our road, as well as educate the public about the important contributions that truck drivers make and encourage them to #ThankADriver.
Billboard advertisements will appear along interstates throughout the country to thank truck drivers while educating motorists. The billboards, which feature actual award-winning truck drivers from different states, depict the critical need for truck drivers in America, and how life’s essentials, such as food, gas or medicine would not be possible without truck drivers making those deliveries. The billboards will appear on highways in Baltimore, Md.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Reno, Nev.; Indianapolis, Ind.; Des Moines, Iowa; Conway, Ark.; Little Rock, Ark.; Charlotte, N.C.; Dallas, Texas; Fort Worth, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; Dayton, Ohio and Buffalo, N.Y.
One of the billboards, which appears in Nevada, is shown below.
As part of the advertising campaign, TMAF is also thanking drivers over the airwaves of radio stations, including on iHeartRadio, Radio Nemo and Red Eye Radio. You can listen to the radio spots here.
As part of this year’s digital campaign, TMAF is sharing messages thanking drivers across their social properties, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. Messages demonstrate important and fun fall events that America enjoys — all brought to us by a professional truck driver.
This week, Walmart also launched a new TV commercial to thank drivers, which you can view here. Sonny’s Trucking LLC, along with the District of Columbia Truckers Association & Gudelsky Materials, are giving out Truckers Care Packages.
