Trucking Moves America Forward (TMAF) has launched their annual online awareness and education month-long campaign for National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, which is hosted annually every January.

Human trafficking is an ongoing crisis effecting communities across America. Cases have been reported in all 50 states and there are tens of thousands of estimated victims impacted by this modern-day slavery.

Throughout the month of January, TMAF is sharing facts through our social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, including sharing the warning signs of human trafficking and how to report suspicious behavior to the Truckers Against Trafficking Hotline.

With 3.5 million professional truck drivers on America’s roads, truck drivers — America’s eyes and ears — are uniquely positioned to help identify and stop human trafficking. To date, America’s truck drivers have made over 2,400 calls involving over 1,200 victims.

Truckers Against Trafficking will be honoring members of the industry who have helped report cases of human trafficking, the modern form of slavery, with their prestigious Harriet Tubman Award. The award is named in honor of Harriet Tubman, an American abolitionist who conducted the Underground Railroad and helped lead slaves to safety. Nominations are being accepted for consideration though April 30, 2020.

Every day, millions of trucks travel across the country to move America forward. When trucks stop moving, the country stops moving.
