TMAF Celebrating Achievements of Four Drivers During Black History Month
February is Black History Month, an annual month-long celebration in recognition of the achievements made by African Americans throughout U.S. history.
There are many achievements by African Americans to celebrate within the transportation and trucking industries. For example, Frederick McKinley Jones, an inventor, played a critical role in the development of air conditioning and refrigeration for the transportation of food on trucks and railroads. The inventor, Garrett Augustus Morgan, developed the early traffic light system, which helped make roads safer.
In February, TMAF is celebrating four professional truck drivers for their modern-day achievements in the trucking industry.
-Henry Bruster, UPS Freight
-Alphonso Lewis, Sr., YRC Freight
-Joe Pryor, Jet Express
-Sammy Brewster, ABF Freight
These four professionals exemplify excellence in the trucking industry because of their professionalism and dedication to their job, commitment to safety and continuous efforts to move America forward each and every day.
Every week throughout the month of February, one of the four professional truck drivers will be profiled on TMAF’s blog. The drivers will also be featured on TMAF’s social media pages this month.
